These are our terms and conditions for the use of our website cakes-by-jenn-dp.sumup.link and the purchase of products through the website.

The terms and conditions herein together with any notices or conditions on other areas of this website will all together govern use by customers of this website. You should note that Cakes by Jenn DP may at any time make changes to or remove part of this website without any liability to customers for such changes. Cakes by Jenn DP reserves the right to change these terms and conditions in the future without specifically notifying customers and continued use of the website or placing of orders after such changes shall be deemed to be acknowledgement and acceptance thereof.

A contract will only come into existence between you the customer and us once your order has been processed and dispatched.

When you as a customer place an order via this website, you warrant by placing the order that:-

  1. You are not a minor or otherwise legally incapable of entering into a binding contract.
  2. The personal details which you give us on registration are fully complete and accurate.
  3. You are not using a false name or the name of any other person or body which you are not authorised to use.

Placement of an order

When you place your order you are doing so in acceptance of these terms and conditions and it is important that you have read them before you go ahead and order.

Payment Conditions

Prices

Following your enquiry, your quote is valid for 3 working days. Paying the initial payment (see below) secures this price & your date. ​The price of celebration cakes includes a €50 non-refundable booking fee, which covers the costs of time taken during the quoting process, securing the date and admin.

Initial Payments

Custom Cakes

Full payment is required to secure the commission of your cake and chosen date with Cakes by JennDP. For orders over €100, It is possible to arrange 50% initial deposit, with the remaining balance being paid a minimum of 2 weeks before the collection date.

Please note: all orders placed within 2 weeks of the required collection date must be paid for in full under any circumstance.

Late Payments

Full payment is required before any work starts on your order, and failure to pay the full balance will result in a cancellation.

If payment is not received within 3 days of quoting/invoicing, Cakes by JennDP reserves the right to cancel any previous arrangements, unless otherwise agreed on different terms by the service provider.

Cancelling an order

Customers who have made full payment are entitled to a refund for cancellations made 7 or more business days in advance of the requested date of event. Late cancellations will not be entitled to a refund, although refunds and credit notes may be given at the discretion of Cakes by JennDP. The cost of any custom items purchased for your order (toppers etc) will be deducted from the total cost of any eligible refunds.

​Cakes by JennDP retains the right to cancel the booking in very unusual circumstances, such as ill health, in which case any money taken will be refunded in full.

When an order is placed you will get an order confirmation sent to the email address you provided during checkout, containing information about order content, prices.

Delivery

Selected delivery options available. No personal deliveries at this time. You as a buyer are free to choose from the mentioned and at the time relevant delivery option(s).

Collection

Cakes by Jenn DP assumes no responsibility for damages during transport or damages caused from any delays beyond its control from Pickup time at store

Cakes are photographed as proof of its condition prior to collection. Please follow the cake care instructions provided.

Tiered cakes are most at risk during transport, so please seek advice on how to transport it. You can also visit the cake care page for more advice.

Returns Policy

All products are baked to order, and returns are not accepted.

Cakes by JennDP will not accept liability for any damage made after leaving our premises

No products may be returned to Cakes by Jenn DP without the prior written consent of Cakes by Jenn DP and are subject to a return charge.

Consumption & Storage

Cakes and cupcakes are best eaten within 24-48 hours of collection. Their quality cannot be guaranteed outside this timeframe. Brownies and french macarons have a longer shelf life, and should be stored in an airtight container to retain their shelf life.

All bakes are suitable for freezing. The Food Standards Agency recommends that food should only be frozen for a maximum of 3 months to preserve quality. Defrost fully before consumption, and eat on the same day. Do not re-freeze.

Allergies & Special Dietary Requirements

We have looked in detail at our kitchen procedures and although we have taken steps to control the unintended presence of allergenic ingredients in our food, we cannot fully guarantee this.

Allergens

All baked goods are made in a kitchen that handles the following food allergens:Cereals containing gluten (such as wheat), eggs, milk, mustard, peanuts, sesame, soybeans (soya), sulphur dioxide & sulphites, and tree nuts (e.g. hazelnuts, almonds, cashews)

Some sprinkles may contain traces of, fish. Please notify me of any food allergies before placing your order.

Non-Edible Items

Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items (e.g. support dowels, cake toppers); it is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed by themselves/guests before consumption.

Some sprinkles may contain raw pasta and should be removed before consumption.

Liability

We try to have the information on this website as accurate as possible but we make no warranties, whether express or implied, regarding its accuracy. We also do not make any warranties regarding any matters relating to the use of this website and it is a matter for you to ensure that your own equipment is protected from viruses or other external factors.

Your rights are protected by the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act, 1980, and also the Consumer Protection Act, 2007, where you are a consumer. Nothing in this website shall affect your rights under the applicable law.

Severance

If any of these terms and conditions shall prove to be void, unlawful, or unenforceable for any reason then such term or condition shall be deemed to be severed from the remaining terms and conditions which shall remain valid and enforceable.

If any provision of these terms and conditions shall be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable then that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
